Liberation theology for teachers and their students October 10, 2008 9 out of 18 found this review helpful
William Ayers has written extensively on educating children and youth. Ayers advocates, in this collection of essays by a variety of very, very, liberal writers, that a teacher has many roles ranging from teaching, arbitrating, counseling, and most importantly, a commitment to social engineering. Per Ayers, at a young age students should be made aware of communal-based values, and that students have an awareness and proclivity for engagement with institutions. Ayers believes that that a primary responsibility of teachers is to instill within students an obligation to confront institutions which do not adhere to communal-based values.
-- All in all, pretty radical stuff. Not your typical respect for others values, more of a liberation theology for kids.
