Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Wild and remote, Patagonia is a region that captures the natural drama of South America like no other - from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific, from the vast wind-swept stretches of the pampa grasslands to the archipelago of Tierra del Fuego and the treacherous tip of Caper Horn. "El Sur" fascinated explorers like Magellan and FitzRoy - captain of the HMS Beagle on which Darwin sailed - as well as buccaneers like Drake. The jagged granite cliffs of the FitzRoy Massif, the mighty glaciers, the still mountain lakes of the Andes and the impenetrable rainforests cast a dream-like spell on all who venture here.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Gorgeous Landscapes   August 29, 2008
An excellent book on one the lesser known parts of the world.Great photographs, and unlike most pictorial books, well written text too. After seeing this book I believe that Patagonian landscapes are the most sublime, pristine and breathtakingly beautiful landscapes in the world, and my resolve to visit Patagonia one day has become stronger. A must-have possession for nature loving travellers, armchair or otherwise.
