Product Description Multi-award winning photographer Peter Lik descibes Las Vegas as a "neon oasis embraced by a spiritual land." In this collection of full-color, panoramic views of the city and its stark environs, Lik juxtaposes the extremes of Vegas' perpetual glow with the harrowing beauty of the Nevada desert.

Beautiful book and wedding accessory... September 9, 2008 After a recommendation from another bride, I picked up this book as an alternative to a guest book for my wedding in Las Vegas next month. The photography is absolutely amazing and really portrays the city and surrounding desert at its best. I'm looking forward to seeing my guests' faces as they look through this book as much as I am to reading what they write!
Spectacular July 7, 2007 This is now the best photography book I own. My two favorite photo books are nature and Las Vegas images, this book combines both. It is about half Las Vegas pictures and half nature pictures from nevada and surrounding states. All the photos in the book are stunning, and it has some of the best Vegas photos I have seen. Aside from the photos themselves, the design/layout of the book and paper used are also top quality. A must have for Vegas/photography lovers.
"...And Beyond" Is The Best Part May 12, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm not normally big into art or photography, but a stunning canyon picture at the entrance to Peter Lik's gallery at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas pulled me in and an obsession was born. Lik's "America" book is definitely some of his finest work, and his Maui book is also really good too, so how does Las Vegas stack up? As expected, there's only so much you can do with the strip - there's many variations on the Bellagio fountains, and images of some of the grandest resorts from angles few can ever see, but mostly the photos are just high quality representations of Las Vegas. Good stuff, but not the landscape imagery the artist excels at. The best of the strip are some of the panoramic shots at sunrise or sunset with the mountains in the background.
It's the rest of the book that truly stands out, as the national parks near Las Vegas are fully represented. There are dozens of gorgeous shots of Zion, Valley Of Fire, Bryce Canyon, Death Valley, Red Rock Canyon, and in a spectacular finale - the Grand Canyon.
For someone who is in love with Las Vegas and the beauty of the surrounding area, this book is amazing. For pure love of photography, others might only be interested in the desert landscapes offered here.
Great Pictures May 9, 2007 The book arrived right on time and it was great. The pictures were like nothing I have ever seen before. I recommend the book and Peter Lik to anyone.
