Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars great photography   November 20, 2007

This coffee-table book has a wealth of fine color photos illustrating the various aspects of the bullfight and the bullfighting business. The photos take you from the ganaderas where the fighting bulls are raised to the arenas, the drama, spectacle, and death, and to aspirant boys playing with capes in the hope of one day entering a ring. There's also text, by the co-author Vidal, but for me, the color photographs are the main joy here.

I'd give the book a full 5 stars, but in too many cases the subjects in the photos are insufficiently identified. It would have been better, from my point of view, in particular, to know who the matador was. Different matadors can easily convey a greater or lesser sense of drama. But for a used copy on Amazon of $4.80? That's a great buy!
