Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
In her Speckergruppen series of the 1990s, Heidi Specker studied the structural principles that underlie modern architecture and how those relate to the construction of an image. There followed a body of work titled Concrete, a detailed examination of materials and their visual appearance. In her latest series, Im Garten, Specker has returned to the nature of photography and reflects on nature's relations to architecture, juxtaposing in her compositions buildings and the flora surrounding them. As seen in this book, the visual joy in Specker's photographs and her beguiling use of color recall the work of Albert Renger-Patzsch. Architecture and nature meld to form graphically composed scenes of energetic luminosity.
