Excellent reference August 25, 2008 Excellent guide - especially in conjunction with your user manual - or if you don't have a user manual at all. The Magic Lantern Guides are clearly written. You can go from beginning to end or just by the certain sections for what you need.
Magic Lantern Guides Nikon D80 August 13, 2008 Being new to digital fotography this book is very helpfull. I purchased two copies over 6 months, one for my daughter and one for myself. As good as Nikon is, their documentation is at best spare. The book above is valuable in the learning process.
Magic Lantern Guides: Nikon D80 July 6, 2008 Most if not all the information is this book is in the Nikon D80's owners manual. However I found this book easier to understand and follow, also the hints given throughout the book are very helpfull. The wallet size quick reference card found at the rear of the book comes in very handy.
white balance June 14, 2008 I have not finished this book yet, but it is a manual not a novel: having said that... Well bound, heavy white paper, big text, images sharp, clear in strong half tone. There are no colour plates but the black and whites are stunning. This effort is in contrast to the original Nikon manual which is none of the above. There are a few curious spell errors, however,if you are a digislr rookie like me you will want all the help you can get to understand the encyclopeadic volume of informaton it takes to get the most from this fabulous camera.
Better than the Book that Comes with the Camera! June 5, 2008 I love my D80! And, I bought this camera instead of the newer ones because I have several lenses that I used with my N70 film Nikon. The newer cameras take their own lenses. This book is great--as are all the Lantern books I've used--because it SHOWS as well as TELLS how to use the many functions of the camera. I keep this book in my camera bag so I can reference any function that I need to use.
