Great Bike Tour of Europe March 7, 2006

Bike touring in Europe means different things to different people. If you go on an organized tour, from chateau to chateau in France or perhaps village to village in Tuscany, you travel perhaps 30 miles per day in 5 mile increments, wine and cheese at each break.
Perkowitz does it a different way. 100 miles per day. Stay where ever the day ends. It could be one of those Chateaus, or it could be a hovel in rural Belarus.
If you want to experience the gamut of bike touring opportunities and hazards on the route from Lisbon, Portugal to Moscow, get this book. The photos and story will mesmorize you. I know. I wrote it.
