Product Description It's great, and it's Nikon's most talked about camera introduction in years! The D200 is the long-awaited successor to the bestselling D100, and so it's almost guaranteed to have an instant following from pros and advanced amateurs worldwide. And along with the camera, those eager photographers will want Magic Lantern to help them learn the ins-and-outs of this exciting piece of equipment. A robust body houses Nikon's latest CMOS DX digital image sensor, high speed crop technology, 3D Matrix II Color Metering and NEF (RAW) image processing technology, and much more: all of which are fully, beautifully covered in this invaluable manual. 5 X 7 1/2. b/w illus. throughout

Good addition to the manual August 18, 2008 I read both the Nikon user's manual and this book cover to cover. This book is easier to understand and the hints and notes are invaluable. The only minor annoyance was the large number of typos in the book. The editors at Sterling were below par.
D200 User Guide April 6, 2008 Simon Stratford is a gifted author. I found his book on the Nikon D200 both extremely readable and very useful. He provides well documented and illustrated descriptions of the many features of this superb camera. I highly recommend it.
Nikon D200 guide March 25, 2008 This was a very essential product for me, as I bought the camera used, and needed an indept guide, for this somewhat complex camera.
Great information for me
A Handy Adjunct to the Manual January 18, 2008 Although the Nikon D200 manual is clear, concise and informative as these things go, the Magic Lantern guide is worth getting as well, and not just for another perspective. Written in a less formal and dense voice than the official Nikon publication, the MLG also contains additional tips and information for advanced users, as well as basic stuff that the manual takes for granted, all pitched at a level that avoids confusing or patronising the reader.
Very Resourceful Guide Book December 20, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The D200 is my first digital slr, although, I own and use Nikon N90s and F100. I borrowed the book from a friend and then purchased my own copy. The book has been excellent for me in addition to the manual because of the added information that comes as a result of a professional using the D200. The shaded text areas offering tips is great for a quick reference and emphasis on performing certain tasks. Where I need/ed help the most are the features such as the histogram, white balance, speedlight, etc and the book covers these well. My biggest challenge will be learning the custom programming within the D200 and I'm hoping the Magic Lantern will take me through it with confidence. The book is well worth its price!
