Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Egypt is a country with a long, disparate and dynamic life and Lyons has captured a great deal of that energy and history   October 16, 2007
Egypt is a nation with a long and glorious history, and at this point in time most of the glory is in the past. From the Arab and Mediterranean northern region to the Nubian southern region, the people are completely different in appearance. It is a nation where the ancient ways coexist with the modern ones. All of these traits of this vibrant country are captured in the photographs in this collection.
On page 38 there is a picture of a Cairo laborer and on page 39 an image of a Nubian man. On page 17, there is a photo of a pyramid and on page 81 a modern high-rise building. There are ruins from the time of the Pharaohs, vast expanses of desert and many pictures of the hustle and bustle of modern life. Egypt is a country with a long, disparate and dynamic life and Lyons has captured a great deal of that energy and history in this collection of images.
