Product Description The first-ever collection from the archives of the legendary Chairman of the Board, filled with never-before-seen photos, letters, mementos, and more. What is a legend? A legend is a man who, more than 65 years after stepping on stage for the first time, is still larger than life. A man who changed the way we wear our hats. A man possessed not of a voice, but The Voice. Frank Sinatra is a legend. Created in conjunction with the Frank Sinatra Estate, THE SINATRA TREASURES tells the story of Sinatras life with rare and never-before-published quotes from those he loved and those he worked with--and from the Chairman of the Board himself. More than 200 black-and-white and full-color images from several Sinatra archives, as well as 30 removable facsimile reproductions of items, such as a script from one of his radio shows and a Sinatra family photo album, provide a behind-the-scenes glimpse into Sinatras world and talent. Also included is a new compilation CD of rare interviews, early radio appearances, and songs. This celebration of the many elements of Frank Sinatra--as singer, as actor, as humanitarian, as friend--brings to life as never before the man who made the standards standard.

The Sinatra Treasures October 13, 2008 This is a book that every 'Sinatraite' needs in his/her library! Besides having many photos that I have not seen before, the copies of what are considered 'collectables' are great! Just think, an automatic nostalgia collection without the expense!
This is a MUST HAVE book for anyone into the CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD!
In short, a SINATRA FAN is NOT completeLY 'WHOLE' without this great book.
If you're a Sinatra fan, you have to have this book! September 1, 2008 This is the book for those who are truly his loyal fans. My purchase is for a friend who adored his style, grace and music. The book includes momentos such as programs, rare photos and memorbilia captured and preserved in such a way it will be a must have for the avid collector. I was very impressed with the fast delivery and packaging. In fact, I will be buying another book to add to my library as this comprehensive edition is too wonderful to give away!
"He thought and sang like a horn." August 5, 2008 Always fascinated by the great instrumentalists, especially horn players who never took an obvious breath while playing, Sinatra tried from his earliest days to emulate them, swimming laps and jogging, long before it became fashionable, to increase his lung capacity. His smooth delivery and classic phrasing, resulting from these efforts, are among his hallmarks.
Though facts like this may fill other books about Sinatra, this book is completely unique, more a family scrapbook than an ordinary book--a comprehensive, but extremely personal collection of material about the Chairman of the Board. Filled with artifacts--thirty or more replicas of memorabilia from Sinatra's life and career from the Sinatra Family Collection, all removable from transparent sleeves by the reader, it includes photographs, programs from concerts and performances at Las Vegas, movie posters, letters from Presidents, telegrams from admirers, and even replica tickets, all interspersed with interviews with his three children and comments by Quincy Jones and others who worked with him. "Reading" this book becomes a true participation in Sinatra's life.
In addition, an included CD contains radio performances from 1945, a recording of his repartee and fun with Bing Crosby, a radio interview from Australia as he talks about his career, excerpts from his Vegas shows, the adapted version of "High Hopes" which he sang as part of a fundraiser for John F. Kennedy when he ran for President, and numerous other special memories.
Worth every penny to the devoted Sinatra fan, this scrapbook is so carefully reproduced that every page and every insert looks and feels real. The selections on the CD make Sinatra come alive in a way that's different from what one hears on a record, a portrait of the man behind the music. If you enjoy the music of Frank Sinatra, do not miss this collection of treasures. n Mary Whipple
Classic Sinatra: His Greatest Performances 1953-1960 The Capitol Years Sinatra Reprise: The Very Good Years Frank Sinatra - A Man and His Music (DVD) From Here to Eternity
This is a beautiful book full of unique treasures to discover and loads of rare photos and quotes March 14, 2008 The Sinatra Treasures is yet another look at Frank Sinatra's life and career, this time with never-before-published quotes, more than 200 black-and-white and color images from several Sinatra archives and 30 removable facsimile reproductions of items (scripts, a Sinatra photo album). Also included is a CD with an hour's worth of rare interviews and songs, including Frank singing a parody of "High Hopes" for presidential hopeful John F. Kennedy's campaign.
The author, Charles Pignone, is a Sinatra family archivist and has written liner notes for several Sinatra releases. He has been president of the Sinatra Society of America since 1984.
The book opens with recollections from Quincy Jones and Frank Sinatra Jr. The first chapter charmingly opens with a "cast of characters." Early mementos include a New York Giants scorecard (1942) and "Frank Fare" (1943), an early Sinatra fan magazine. Other gems include a 1944 program script and copies of later programs, telegraphs, and photos.
This is probably only going to have lasting appeal for the die-hard Sinatra collector; it's overkill for the casual fan, and will probably only warrant flipping through once or twice. Also, although the removable mementos are a neat idea, the paper sleeves they come in are very flimsy and tear easily.
A must for any fan of Frank's! January 26, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a hell of a deal! I can't believe that more people aren't aware of this treasure trove of photo's, mementos, and music from the Sinatra family collection. This is not some tawdry, half-hearted, gimmicky attempt to make a quick buck. You can tell that it was created with a whole lot of care and heart. First class all the way! Sinatra was a perfectionist, and it is nice to see all the meticulousness that was put forth in this magnificent work.
If you are a fan, then please make this purchase. I can guaranty you will not be disappointed in the slightest. There are so many wonderful little surprises awaiting you, and seemingly every page is a new, delightful discovery. There are more than 200 photos (both in color and black & white), 30 removable facsimile reproductions, never before published quotes from the greats who worked with him (i.e. Duke Ellington, Quincy Jones, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Ronald Reagan, et al...), a compilation CD of rare interviews and songs, etc... etc...
If you love the Chairman of the Board like I do, then trust me when I tell you, this is a must. A definite A+!!!
