Plug and Play September 6, 2008 So far this has been a great product. I am a Mac user and have had trouble in the past finding flash reliable flash memory where I could transfer large files (>20MB). No problem here. Multiple transfers went off without a hitch. The only quirk is the software that is included/embedded. I can't find a way to take it off, and consequently, I have to unmount the installer every time I take out the drive. Otherwise, no complaints.
Good memory stick with very annoying flashing light September 6, 2008 I have nothing against this memory stick except the big light that takes up most of the top of the stick. It is continuously on and frequently flashes when the stick is mounted. As far as I can tell there is no way to turn it off. It can quickly become very annoying. The only solution I found was to plug the stick in the back of my laptop, where it is invisible. Next time, I'm definitely buying less flashy stick.
Not user-friendly at all September 5, 2008 They tried to make user life easier with their U3 application but it made it worse. I have 3 different PCs of 3 different models and I've always had problem getting the computer to recognize the drive and open it. On one of them, the U3 application goes through the installation process and no application seems to get installed. Double-clicking on the executable file does nothing. I gave up and returned it for a simplier USB key.
cheap storage but cheap housing September 1, 2008 I've had other flash drives like this and this one works fine but I was disappointed to find how cheaply made the casing is. Of course that's not apparent in an on line image. On the plus side the USB jack is recessed which is good as there is no cover to misplace. Nothing wrong with the drive's function but my bet is there are other flash drives out there at a similar price.
It has a nice feature, but is too flimsy! August 29, 2008 I have owned many USB drives including this one. When compared to the similarly priced and rugged Corsair drives, the Sandisk seems very cheaply made to me. They can easily break off of the neck lanyard and are a little too small for their own good. The only thing I like about this drive is that there is no cap to lose. My advice is to consider the Corsair USB drives, or maybe even the Kingston drives, before buying this one.
