This book tells you that aging is not losing but evolving. The beauty of youth will fade and the center of being reveals as we age. "At a certain point, one gets the face one deserves" is so true. Great gift for your friends.
A celebration indeed - perfect title June 6, 2008
This book is remarkable in inspiring an appreciation for the beauty in visage and in spirit that can be gained over a lifetime. I have used this as a retirement gift many many times. The feedback is so positive from those to whom I've given it. One person said it has encouraged her and a couple of friends to go to a photographer to create similar portraits of themselves.

Great as gifts April 5, 2008
I bought a couple of copies as gifts, one for my sister and another for a female colleague. A coworker of my wife recommended this book and she was right. The photographs are fantastic. They speak to you like an image should, more than a thousand words! The quotes are also well chosen. For some of us, this may be a trip down memory lane with the women we have grown up with such as Gloria Steinem. My colleague found the pictures and quotes inspirational, especially when she had a quiet moment or felt a little down. This is a great book to give as a gift to female friends, colleagues, or co-workers as it provides inspiration, is politically correct and yet very appropriate.

A wonderful book for the mature woman or any woman. Beautiful photography, beautiful women. What a great gift! It is a feel good book for any woman.
