Product Description
Chris Weston, one of the world’s most celebrated nature photographers, presents a practical and inspiring new guide on the dream trip of a lifetime: an African safari. Packed with 230 sensational color photos of the continent’s unsurpassed wildlife, it shows how to plan for a safari and what to take along. A Botswana to Zambia guide to the best parks and wildlife reserves provides invaluable information on when to travel and the best sites for viewing nesting birds, elephant herds, the black rhinoceros, big cats, and more. Plus, entire sections cover animal behavior patterns and photographic techniques for capturing great fleeting wildlife moments.

Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Pretty pictures but not much substance   April 5, 2008
4 out of 4 found this review helpful

I was hoping for a book that would instruct me about taking wildlife photography in Africa, including suggestions on techniques for setting up better shots, advice about what kind of equipment is best, and tips for avoiding dust and vibration issues mentioned in safari guides. This book was repetitive and shallow. It had big print with very little text, and it duplicated in much less detail safari guide information on which parks have which species. It was totally lacking in the photographic advice I was seeking. Yes, it had some pretty pictures, but with the text printed over them, it is not even a good coffee-table book.
