4 out of 5 stars Good basic knowledge young women need to date and mate successfully   October 22, 2008
This book is good in that it provides basic/needed knowledge to women, particularly young women who are embarking on the relationship phase of their lives. This book is particularly applicable to those who may one day wish to marry.
It defines many common sense things that fathers and mothers should teach young women, but unfortunately their fathers and mothers are too messed up to have figured these things out. In my psychology classes there is always some sweet thing who is living with her boyfriend and they "are planning to get married." She is, as the book says, already giving him everything, sex, food, house cleaning services, etc and then she ultimately wonders why he won't marry her. As the Rutgers report notes, "Males in this situation are satisfied, but they think something better is out there, so they keep looking." My grandma said it this way, "why should a man buy a cow (get married) when milk (sex) is free?"
The book makes good observations about how especially vulnerable women are who grew up without fathers or other healthy role models as they don't know how to relate to young men and often cannot imagine how visual the male is or sex driven he is.

I agree with a previous commenter that the book is poorly edited and that there are a number of misspellings. The lists are helpful, particularly the red-flags about men to be careful.
There is a good deal of sound advice in this book and I would recommend it to any young woman who isn't very sure of her value system.

4 out of 5 stars Very informative book!   October 12, 2008
Even as a woman in my forties I found it to be very eye opening. Although there are some points that are clearly geared towards his daughters or a younger girl but for the most part it was interesting to here it from a man's perspective. As women we have to start listening to how men think. We do have all the power and need to start acting like it when it comes to dating. I had a friend pick it up because listening to her talk about her situation with a man all I kept hearing was her trying to prove herself worthy of him! And I could sense that she was afraid of doing something wrong, or of him dumping her cause she wasn't good enough. Well, she ordered the book and I hope she will change her outlook.
Overall I say it is a very good book and I will definitely keep it as a reference guide for my next dating venture.

4 out of 5 stars Women Have All The Power, Too Bad They Don't Know It   September 22, 2008
This was very helpful information. It is excellent for women of all ages. After finishing it, I immediately gave it to a friend to read.

4 out of 5 stars Yes, ladies we do have the Power!!!   September 21, 2008
Book was well written. Enjoyed the old fashioned perspective of dating. Women have choices as to how they are to be treated by a man because we are the ones who exercise the choices of who we pick to be in our lives and how the relation is conducted by how we see ourselves. Let's be ladies again and not whores or skeezers who give up the "prize" too easily to guys thinking we will keep them. Let's easily recognize the players from the good men by treating ourselves like the ladies that we were created to be.

5 out of 5 stars An answer to the high divorce rate in our American Society.   September 8, 2008

I really appreciate this book coming from your male perspective. There is a lot of information out there in books by and for women and information from one's mother, sister's, girlfriend's and professional therapist. But never have I been able to so completely agree, identify and benefit from information such as the author has shared here. I have been married 25 years and am the mother of two adult daughters and one teenage son. I have recommended this book to all of my girlfriend's and will buy copies to give to my daughters and close friends because there is something there for women and girls at every stage of their life.

Because I know all good comes from God, I praise Him for bringing the author forth to share his wisdom and heart to bless us women and give us the knowledge to understand our power and how to use it to attract and keep the men who are right for us. God bless Michael Lockwood for being a stand up guy and a friend to your daughters and women in general. May God continue to bless your marriage and future successes.
