Review 1 from Graham Harris: This is a practical down to earth, easy to use book on retouching portraits. It is different to the others you may own or have read in that she is willing to share her trade secrets. On using her techniques for only a short while I have been able to retouch the portraits and maintain the skin texture. The images look alive and real. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is a "must get" if you are really serious about portrait photography. Comment 2 from Michael Sewell: Superb book, excellent quality (better than expected - see sellers website) A+++ Comment 3 from Nicole Kline: It is a very good book, I look forward to your other book very soon. Comment 4 from Colin Barker: Excellent book direct from author brilliant back up service with personal touch! Comment 5 from Moller: I have more than 10 photoshop books. Dharma' book is the best one. She shares so much wonderful knowledge with readers. Lead me into a whole new PHOTOSHOP world. No nonsense in her book. I can't wait to see her next book. Comment 6 from James Chapman: A++Many thanks. A++++ Comment 7 from Tenshi Geijutsu Fine Art Brokerage:A great person to do business with, excellent service. . . The best. Worst photoshop book of 2006 January 13, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
It is like a high school project gone bad. Where's the beef? No Stars. Note THE ONLY PERSON TO GIVE A POSITIVE REVIEW IS THE AUTHOR. I checked Michaels comment and he is right. For $50 total: you could get the Kevin Ames book $24. 00 and the Lee Varis book Skin $26. 00 and have over 800 pages in full color with a CD included. These are fully recognized authors or the hundred pages of a third rate printing press offered here. Your choice.
Dreadful December 7, 2006 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Don't even waste money buying this used. It is indeed a homemade book and published by some second rate press method. This author has delusions of grandure. A terrible waste of space. The lack of a redeeming CD or even downloadable pics might have helped a tiny bit. I'd give this NO STARS if that were an option.
Disappointed , skin retouching sucks November 19, 2006 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
A weak product from construction to information. It was a gift that I threw in the garbage can. CH 3 How to create pregnant women? Try Photoshop Effects for Portrait Photographers / Focal Press / C. Grey, instead.
HOMEMADE, low budget oversea production. RETURNED! November 19, 2006 14 out of 15 found this review helpful
One amateurs attempt at producing a low budget manual. The lack of information, weak printing and poor English killed it. Read the title, notice the odd cover girls hair and the page count close. The topics become bizarre after Ch 2. Ch 3: How to make women look fat. There are a ton of other books out there with a hundred times more information for less than half the cost. This would be overpriced at $1. Weak
