Product Description
Spectacular Chicago is a visual celebration of this great city in an oversize format befitting one of the world’s most exciting urban areas. The book surveys all the things that make the city great, from its checkered history and stunning architecture to its dynamic sports scene and colorful blues bars. Lake Michigan, The Loop, the Magnificent Mile in the Near North and the Lakeshore Apartments of the Gold Coast, Lincoln Park on the Northside, and the spirited neighborhoods of the Southland — it’s all here, captured in lush color photographs and Tom Allen’s lively, informative text.

Not So Spectacular August 4, 2006 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
It has some good photo's but most are just average, some are grainy. This is another book about Chicago from someone who doesn't live in Chicago. It has some very obvious mistakes to someone who lives in the area, such as a photo taken from one of the lagoons in Lincoln Park and labeled Riverscape. Another is a picture of St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in the Southland section when it actually is located in the near northwest side of the city. This book is printed in Hong Kong when it should have been printed in Chicago, the printing capital of the United States. If you want a really spectacular photo book of Chicago buy "Above Chicago" by Robert Cameron.
