Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The superb Canon EOS 20-D single-lens-reflex camera (SLR) has professional features at a consumer-friendly cost, and that's why it's bound to become a bestseller. Rob Sheppard, PCPhoto's digital expert, shows owners how to make the most of this great equipment, with unequalled hands-on advice on all its technological capabilities and helpful accessories, including choosing and using lenses and flash units. Accompanied by loads of photos and diagrams, he covers features such as the all-new 8.2 MP CMOS Sensor; 5 fps performance for up to 23 consecutive frames; new high-precision 9-point AF System; built-in multi-controller for fast focusing; and much more. No Canon 20-D user will want to be without it.

5 out of 5 stars Great Learning Guide   January 9, 2007

This book has been very helpful in understanding the digital "lingo" and how the features work. I have been an SLR user 30 years and finally made the move to digital by purchasing a Canon 20D. There were a lot of features that I didn't understand and the manual that came with the camera wasn't very clear. This book helped clear the fog around things like white balance, which is totally new for a former film user. I've been able to figure out why some of my photos have not come out like I expected and know how to correct them and not make the same mistake in the future. This book is a great investment for those who are new to the digital world.

5 out of 5 stars New Owner of Canon 20D   January 3, 2007

I use this reference almost daily. Very easy to read and understand. Canon should cut a deal with Magic Lantern Guides and include with all sales. I recently upgraded from the Canon Rebel and used the Rebel guide for that camera as well.

4 out of 5 stars Nice little book   November 9, 2006

If you are a begginer that's a good book, it goes deeper into the effects of different settings than the instructions that comes with the camera, and shows samples of pictures at different settings. If you know how to use and the effect of different values for complicated settings such as white balance and others, you don't need this book.
I would also like to add that the book comes with a nice pocket guide to some settings of the 20D camera.

Provided good supplemental information to the Canon book that came with my camera. This is what I was looking for.
