Great Learning Guide January 9, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book has been very helpful in understanding the digital "lingo" and how the features work. I have been an SLR user 30 years and finally made the move to digital by purchasing a Canon 20D. There were a lot of features that I didn't understand and the manual that came with the camera wasn't very clear. This book helped clear the fog around things like white balance, which is totally new for a former film user. I've been able to figure out why some of my photos have not come out like I expected and know how to correct them and not make the same mistake in the future. This book is a great investment for those who are new to the digital world.
New Owner of Canon 20D January 3, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I use this reference almost daily. Very easy to read and understand. Canon should cut a deal with Magic Lantern Guides and include with all sales. I recently upgraded from the Canon Rebel and used the Rebel guide for that camera as well.
Nice little book November 9, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you are a begginer that's a good book, it goes deeper into the effects of different settings than the instructions that comes with the camera, and shows samples of pictures at different settings. If you know how to use and the effect of different values for complicated settings such as white balance and others, you don't need this book. I would also like to add that the book comes with a nice pocket guide to some settings of the 20D camera.

Provided good supplemental information to the Canon book that came with my camera. This is what I was looking for.
