4 out of 5 stars Interesting Twists   October 12, 2008
I really love this series because everytime you think you have things figured out Kim Harrison goes and surprises you. I enjoyed this book tremendously. I find how Ms. Harrison is developing the main character, Rachel Morgan fascinating. She has grown in a lot of ways and powers. She's becoming much more than just another witch with some powerful friends. I have stayed interested in her relationship with Ivy the living vampire that she shares her home with. I still enjoy Jenks although he is starting to get on my nerves with his pixie protectiveness. I think it's great that Ms. Harrison brought back Al the demon is this book. He plays a huge part in this novel. Of course, Trent the elf is always involved however you find out a lot about his and Rachel's childhood in this book. I can't wait to read the next one to see how all of this continues to develop. I'm sure that Cormel has a lot to do with how Rachel's life is going to go. I would highly recommend this book to anyone that is reading the series however if you haven't read the first couple books then you need to go back and read them first.

5 out of 5 stars Loved it - and I almost gave up on Rachel before Book 6   October 10, 2008
"The Outlaw Demon Wails" puts Kim Harrison back on my must-read list! I'd nearly given up on Rachel, as the last few books seemed to be an endless meandering of will-they/won't-they with Ivy and Rachel claiming to grow up, then making an even stupider decision than usual. Not so in Book 6. Rachel HAS grown up, and the many plot threads were woven together in an engaging and suspenseful way. I loved how this book ended and can't wait to read what happens next.

5 out of 5 stars Hey! No Spoilers! (Beware new readers!)   October 10, 2008
Hey! I was wandering around and found the review that say's a major character is dead! How much does that suck since I'm only on book 5! I also don't know why Kim Harrison doesn't have this book on her book list on her website. can anyone clarify? thanks! and no more spoilers!

The novel is ok. It's not her best work. It lacked the thrill and excitement. I'm still a fan, and i still enjoy one of my favorite non-human character,Jenks.

5 out of 5 stars Best book in the series yet!   September 27, 2008
I love this series. Rachel is a wonderful main character and her supporting cast are colorful, creative, entertaining and keep you interested from start to finish. The most recent turn in the story has been the best yet and I can't wait for the next book in this series.
