photography at its best! November 8, 2001 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The saying is that a picture is worth 1,000 words. In Ansel Adams' case each & every picture is worth a dictionary!I've been staring at these intense moments captured over 70 years ago & reprinted with such artistry that draws you closer & closer to catch each detail & then has you stepping back, back to drink in the big picture. With the Ansel Adams at 100 Wall Calendar your New Year will be magnificent!
Very Disappointing October 29, 2001 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
I am a huge fan of Ansel Adams' photography. His pictures capture nature in a way that no other photographer has been able to duplicate. With that in mind, I was very anxious and excited to receive this calender. Being that it celebrates Ansel Adams 100th birthday, I was expecting some of the best of his breathtaking photography. Photrgraphs that blur the line between a photograph and a painted work of art. Photographs that grab you and leave you mesmorised. Unfortunately only a few of the pictures in this calender do that. Most of them are plain and leave no impact on the viewer what so ever. My advice would be to pass on the purchase on this calender. You would be better off using the money towards one of his books, it would leave you much more satisfied.
Jan - Jan August 29, 2001 7 out of 19 found this review helpful
The calendar is nice, and I love the photographs. It would have been nice if Amazon and the "description" would tell you whether it is a January to January calendar, as I was hoping that since it was an "August" calendar that it might be a school year calendar, so August to August, however to my disappointment (at least for 3 months) it is a January to January calendar, so be warned.
