I'm so disappointed with this calendar. For years my best friend and I exchanged the Out on the Porch Calendar. we enjoyed the literary quotes (we both love books and someday will open our own little bookstore), we loved the beautiful porches where we would picture ourselves sitting and chatting and enjoying each other's company (we live far away from each other at this point). This new re-design is terrible! The photos are so so but not like before. We are searching for another calendar for our next year's hopes and imaginations. Very very disappointed.

I'll bet there is a new team responsible for this year's calendar. This calendar is not supposed to be "A View From the Porch," it is "Out on the Porch." I have seen precious few porches. I hope the year improves. I have hung this calendar for years and so look forward to the peace and serenity the photos convey. Big mistake to change the concept.

Very disappointed in this year's calendar. I have ordered this calendar for several years, will not order again....In fact have just sent for another calendar (The Secret Garden) and will toss the "Porch" one. The date/day grid for each month is not in pretty colors, the grid and the pictures are formatted differently from last year and do not work well for my use. The pictures are not pretty and they all look the same...where are all the lovely Southern homes with gingerbread trimmed porches and lovely flowery chairs? etc. Sorry, this calendar is a loser!

Algonquin's "Out on the Porch" calenders have hung on my walls for over a decade (they're changed each year). I find the 2007 redesigned calendar to be as good or better than those published previously.
The current edition provides even more stunningly serene photography presented in a clean, well-balanced design. The calendar is both beautiful and functional. The large day blocks (1.56 sq.inches each) provide ample room for penciling-in reminder notes.
Yes, the numbers are now all in black and gone are the literery references linked to the pictures, but that's fine with me. I'd rather make my own connections and associations than have them paired for me as music videos have done with music. I like the post cards too!
