| Customer Reviews:
An absolute "must-have" for any young child interested in owning a bird. September 7, 2008 Twitter and Tweet: Bringing Home a Bird is more than a children's picturebook - it's an extremely basic primer about the responsibilities and joys of owning a bird for a pet. Different birds have different requirements (parakeets and cockatiels like people but need a lot of attention, while finches and canaries are easy to keep but don't like to be touched). All pet birds need to have their cage cleaned often, a healthy diet preferably supplemented with fresh fruits and vegetables, and regular veterinary checkups. Twitter and Tweet follows a young girl named Erin who befriends her pet parakeet and diligently takes care of him. The final two pages offer fun facts about parakeets and their life cycle. An absolute "must-have" for any young child interested in owning a bird.
