Product Description We’ve received some complaints about the binding of this book, Adobe Photoshop CS3: Up to Speed, falling apart and investigated the issue with our printer. We’ve inspected the remaining inventory in our warehouse and as far as we can determine the bindings are fine. If you have a defective copy please contact us at: http://www.peachpit.com/about/contact_us/ and choose “defective” from the drop down menu. We would be happy to send you a replacement copy if the binding of the book you purchased is no longer intact. - Glenn Bisignani, Product Marketing Manager
This must-have guide goes right to the heart of Photoshop CS3--what has changed, what is new, and how you can get the most out of the features as quickly as possible. Rather than sift through hundreds of pages detailing every last Photoshop feature and function (both old and new), you can go directly to the new features that interest you the most and get the explanations you desire in the classic Ben Willmore style--intuitive, crystal clear, and in-depth. By focusing on a single topic--what's new in this version--the award-winning author provides precisely what experienced Photoshop users have been clamoring for, in exactly the depth they demand. After reading this book--even if you've been using CS3 for a while--don't be surprised to hear yourself say, 'I didn't know CS3 did that!' In addition to learning the new features in no time flat, a welcome side effect of learning from Ben is that you can expect to become a better, faster and more efficient Photoshop user.

Compact no-nonsense book January 24, 2008 Although I've been using CS3 for some months now, every chapter of the book offered some of those rare "hidden gems" which one simply doesn't find without being pointed at them. And while many books are somewhat bloated with stuff one knows anyway, this is a true expert's book for people who rate content above word count.
Photoshop CS3 Up to Speed January 20, 2008 Ben Willmore writes an indepth, fun review of the new aspects of Photoshop CS3. It is extremely thorough and well thought-out and especially appropriate for those already familiar with CS2. I highly recommend it!
Once more, Willmore exceeds expectations December 3, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is exceptionally well organized, wonderfully written and beautifully illustrated. It is tightly focused on the differences from CS2--->CS3.
Each difference is carefully explained. New feature treatments include illuminating and fully illustrated how-to's. Willmore is a master Photoshop teacher, and he writes as well as he teaches.
As for the book's design, it is a gorgeous piece of work, a model of how software books should be designed and illustrated.
In my opinion, if you are moving from CS2 to CS3, and don't have this book, you are hurting.
Super fast start to PS CS3 November 29, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Forget the 2 inch thick 'bibles'. This book will give you the best start in picking up PS CS3. When you are done with this book buy "One-On-One" to expand your PS CS3 knowledge. This book is a great buy. My book was bound OK - no problems there.
Best book on PS CS3 if you use CS2 November 28, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Photoshop is a deep product, and if you have been working with it for a while you likely already have a number of very thick How-To books. Being reluctant to purchase yet another thick, expensive Photoshop book, I picked up this. Fantastic! Covers all the new stuff in depth, and better than some of the other books I have. (I didn't experience any quality issues as mentioned in other reviews.)
