Not for those really sticky problems April 23, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is excellent if what you need is a compendium of standard features of & options for Windows XP. If, however, you're already thuroughly familiar with Win XP, and are seeking help with those odd issues (e.g. how to automatically sync Outlook Contacts across all user accounts on a one PC or on a single LAN), you will, alas, not find that in this book.
Great reference book March 13, 2006 6 out of 10 found this review helpful
It covers a lot of tools and solution to problems that I didn't know about, but it still can't replace Microsoft's knowledge base.
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Resource Kit February 23, 2006 9 out of 12 found this review helpful
This book is amazing for learning Windows xp Professional. Even though I have a different version of XP it helped with tweaking the computer's graphics and multimedia. It is good book if you are staying at home on a rainy day and want to tinker with your pc. The book is thorough and covers installation to troubleshooting. I haven't read all of it yet because it is like a encyclopedia but from what I have seen it has a lot to offer a newbie or someone who is more advanced.

merchant did all they promised, I just ordered wrong book
It is useful, but.... December 14, 2005 15 out of 22 found this review helpful
The book is a good reference, but I find it a bit more than needed for a beginer, while less than an admin would want. The tools are very helpful as well.
I do not own the book mainly because the majority of it is available online at Microsoft's website. You can save yourself a good sum of money getting the info there.
