A good guide for the pros, not DIY artists June 15, 2004 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Extremely thorough, professional guide for the professional photographer. This book is not geared for the artist who desires to do their own photodocumentation or gallery submission photography. There is no doubt that this author is an authority in his field.
All you need to get started February 7, 2001 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
If you want to photograph any sort of artwork, this volume will get you going. All aspects of the task are considered, and the text is lucid, with plentiful illustrations. Various sorts of film, lighting, camera gear, filtration, testing, and lighting technique are covered. These things are not just catalogued, but evaluated by the author based on his years of experience.
Valuable technical detail required for art photography March 5, 1999 23 out of 23 found this review helpful
As a photographer of works of art the indepth technical detail in this book is a necessity for me. Of 4 books I own on this topic, this is the most comprehensive. It has become my 'bible'. I am recommending it to our local Art Guild members who are serious about the need for accurate color slides of their works.
