I thought the first volume couldn't be beat. WOW -- I was wrong. The insights in the book are clearly presented and will forever change the way you capture and process your images. WONDERFUL!
 Practical as ever February 19, 2008
Engaging and practical, like the first book, but aimed at a less general audience than the first -- more like the enthusiasts than the masses, those more likely to buy an external flash, pick up a piece of studio-like equipment here and there.

For a beginner as me Vol II just like Vol I is easy to understand and very practical. I have a lot of photography books aim at the beginner level and The Digital Photography Book series in my view is the best

this book picked up where the vol 1 left off... majority of the book covers off-camera flash and lighting. it really helps simplify the intricacies of using off-camera flash, diffusers, etc.
get this book if you want to learn the basics of light, flash, reflectors...

Scott Kelby did it again. He's short and to the point, easy to understand. One doesn't need to be a professional photographer to comprehend his instructions.
