4 out of 5 stars Learning the art of correct exposure   March 3, 2006

If you are new to photograpy or simply want a refresher on the concept of obtaining correct exposure and the importance of using a spot meter, this is a great book. It can be a little repetative, but this is probably necessary for someone who is unfamilar with these concepts. Overall, I found this to be very informative and well written with helpful illustrations.

5 out of 5 stars A Must for those who love Spotmetering   October 7, 2005

I have been practising the techniques given in this book for the past 3 months with my F100. I am very glad to say that my pictures have improved remarkably. Mr. Bahman explains a really complicated topic in a very lucid and practical manner which is easy for anyone to start spotmetering instantly. With the new cameras, it is easy to fall into the trap of matrix metering and in the bargain miss a lot of fun in making a picture. Mr. Bahman brings back the fun by his easy to follow methods and success is guaranteed along with the fun of creating better images. I strongly recommend this book to all serious photographers. Read it atleast once and you will find the change in your images. Now I have bought a separate Pentax digital spot meter which is a constant companion to my F100s.
Thank you Mr. Bahman for showing that another window exists through which one can have a better view.

[...] Actually if you have bought "Confused photographer's guide to photographic exposure and the simplified zone system" - you bought _MORE_ of the very same content, which is available in "The Confused Photographer's Guide to On-Camera Spotmetering". This book looks like a subset of the previous one, with very little additions, concerning the spotmetering. Please, don't get me wrong. It is not a completely bad book. It is acceptable as long as you haven't seen "The Confused Photographer's Guide to Photographic Exposure and the Simplified Zone System", where the content fits much better. Therefore simply be warned that if you have "The Confused Photographer's Guide to Photographic Exposure and the Simplified Zone System" you won't get almost anything new from this book. :-(
