Mostly promo for high end wedding photographers May 13, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
The book has no real overview, but jumps from the method of one successful wedding photographer to the next, fifteen in all. I was surprised how little insight was provided to digital albums; many of these photographers still shoot film. The albums shown are extremely high end, probably not the best fit for less established photographers. I much preferred "Digital Wedding Album Design Guide" by Kathy Woodford, which is a more nuts and bolts book.
Enjoyable Book April 11, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As a wedding photographer, I found this book useful in a few ways:
1. it got me started in learning about the album companies out there (the profiles mention what album company each photographer uses and show samples of the albums)
2. it showed samples of some beautiful album layouts (the colors, spreads and types were often original and creative)
3. it is a useful tool in client presentations to show different types of albums and different options of album design
This book doesn't teach you how to make albums, it merely shows you samples of albums, their differences, some of the companies producing them and their potential to add to your bottom line.
Not what I expected April 3, 2006 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
This book profiles a number of successful wedding photographers, how they got started, and their styles of work and selling. I did get some helpful tips out of it and got to see some lovely photographs and album pages, but I wanted more how-to tips about planning photographs for and designing wedding albums, with information about the various computer programs available and the companies that sell wedding albums.
Highly Recommended January 24, 2006 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
This book was recommended to me by the photographer/designer that developed my website. As a wedding photographer I haven't seen a better book to determine and improve album design. Each segment is written by a different photographer with layout and supplier advice. Very well printed and an invaluable resource.
Beautiful Book September 30, 2005 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book is so beautiful and well written I have read it over and over again. The ideas you get from this book are incredible. If you are taking pictures or are the bride and groom you will love the layouts and advice in this book.
