Great, great, great!! May 8, 1999 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
It is a very good title - LaChapelle Land, It means that we could never see anything similiar in different way than looking at the book. I am his fan and I would like to see something like this again.
Lachapelle Land is a wonderful book of photography March 13, 1999 Lachapelle Land is a colorful, wondeful medley of art and style. The stars are great!
Fierce, child, fierce!!!!!!!!!! December 7, 1998 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Oh, how do I love David LaChapelle? Let me count the ways. Every picture in this very fabulous book is absolutely amazing. My favorite is Drew Barrymore and the grapefruits with Barbie Doll Pamela Anderson coming in second. I can't wait for the next collection. If only David would take pictures of me. Sigh.
Photographs Worthy of Fridge-Pasting August 24, 1998 David LaChapelle uses color the way it was meant to be used. His photographs are vibrant and pulsing with every shade imaginable, which is what makes them so interesting to look at, unlike most photography today. You can have reality, I want something that's fun to look at, and that's what LaChapelle Land gives me!
Uncultured, uncouth, so is the state of today's youth .. June 26, 1998 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
When you take a person like me, devoid of any interest whatsoever in art, literature, or anything looking suspiciously scholarly, and manage to interest me in an artistic photography book, that's one huge accomplishment. But that's exactly what happened when I ran across Lachapelle's book. The bright cover attracted me, the blatant sexuality and bright colors kept me interested. I think this is a superb example of modern photography. It's interesting. You can look at David's pictures for a long time without getting bored, and, in my opinion, that's not the case with most photographer's work. I really just loved these photographs, and I would highly reccommend the book.
