5 out of 5 stars Amazing Grace   June 30, 2008
The movie was absolutely AMAZING! It will really touch your heart to see a man (William Wilberforce) who would give everything to change the world.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing movie?   June 29, 2008
I had no idea how this song was born. This is a great movie of a great songs real meaning. This movie took me to a whole other learning experience reading books that come from this era. We should all be so strong in moral beliefs & it would be a much better world. This one is one the family can sit down and watch. Teach the children how important matters should never be forgotten.

5 out of 5 stars A Time Like No Other   June 16, 2008
One man stood against a regime of greed and cruelty--William Wilberforce. Now his story and that of his friends is told with clarity in order to compel this generation to live with passion and truth. One man or woman can make a difference. The road is hard and long. It is a costly journey. Bringing little-known facts to light, the film-makers bring a true hero to life. This is the kind of entertainment that changes a culture, calling us to reach out to Grace.

5 out of 5 stars An Inspirational Historical Picture You Need To See.   June 11, 2008
There are some movies that inspire you. Some of these do not inspire you by the masterful manipulation of a storyteller, but by describing something that happened or someone who in real life rose up to the task as a role model. This is one of those movies.

I read one review that complained about the length. While it is a little long on time, it is not boring; my wife commented that it started slow but picked up steam.

There are several applications in this movie, but I won't mention them. It does show that politics haven't changed much in the last 200 years or with geography.

Ioan Gruffudd has become one of my favorite actors, between this and his portrayal as Reed Richards in the Fantastic Four. Both my wife and I were very impressed with Benedict Cumberbatch as the prime minister, and Michael Gabon was great as MP Fox.

I would recommend this movie to be shown at church with a time of discussion following it. Or maybe split it over two weeks.

Jeff Reynolds.

I loved the song, didn't know the movie was so long. I didn't know it was so hard to change the rules. I thought if he wanted to quit transporting slaves, he would just quit. it wasn't that way at all. He sure stuck to it. He felt it was very important to change the laws. Conviction of the ethics he lived by. Kitty
