The Only Investment Guide You'll Ever Need April 20, 2008 Great book to have on the shelf as a reference. Easy to understand and full of pertinent information. My daughter will graduate from college next month and she will receive a copy of this book as a graduation present. rich berman

Great startup guide for investors January 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Years ago, when I had a stock portfolio dropped in my lap, with no idea of the difference between a stock or a bond, a growth fund or an index fund, this book rescued me from the fear of investing. I became a lifetime investor with a degree of confidence that I would not allow my money to be taken over by the wims of the brokerage firms, who's primary goal is making money for themselves. A well writen book for the average person to wade through the complex maze of making money without losing your shirt outside the confines of bank accounts.
great overview for the chickenhearted and fun to read December 27, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a capital markets attorney and help issue stocks and bonds for a living but quite clueless and chicken-hearted when it comes to investing my own money. This book gave me a better understanding of the different products even if I probably will not be trying my hand in each and every investment idea named. Above all, this was immensely enjoyable. The writer has a sense of humor.
Short Shelf Life December 13, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
First off - I loved the book and learned a great deal. I was able to build a revised personal investment plan as I read through the chapters...all good things. The drawbacks for me were that (1) the information seems to be most useful for younger folks (I am 57 and retired); and (2) some of the advice had a short shelf life - this can't be helped when new versions of the book come out every two years or so (so make sure to also check out his website often for current information). That being said, the book is the best tool for investment planning that I have come across and I plan to buy every revised edition as they come out.
