where's the Mac data? June 25, 2006 21 out of 44 found this review helpful
another product that fails to mention that it is for windows. I really believe that most people who use the product, would own a MAC. The product was well written, and highly informative, but of little use to a MAC owner.
PC only May 2, 2006 19 out of 46 found this review helpful
it is not obvious that this is a PC version - If you use a mac like me don't get this one. look at the tiny print on the cover.

It seems more bulky to use than some previous versions, but offers alot.
You can do so much with this software! January 30, 2006 34 out of 39 found this review helpful
Though sometimes I find myself lost because the directions, I feel are not very good. I am new to Photoshop and I do not know where all the buttons are, so when the books says, click on the eraser button for example I find myself spending sometime searching for the button because there is no picture of the button. Other than that it has a lot of great ideas and 98% of the time I can recreate what they are doing. Book is very helpful with colored images. I would recommend this book.
Some things that you can do with this software: Pamaramic - Take several photos and link them together to create a long photo. Red Eye - Remove Red eye with the easy tool. Enhance - You can enhance your photos in many ways. You can add things to your photographs. You can remove people from the photograph (or add people to it) You can remove backgrounds or distracting images. You can clean up someone's face if they have a scratch or blemishes. You can make your photo look like it is on a canvas. Slideshow - Create fun slideshows to show your family.
Trust me, there is a lot more you can do! I would recommend this to anyone. There is just so much you can do to make your photos look really good!
The Official Photoshop Elements 4 Training Manual By Adobe! January 21, 2006 97 out of 98 found this review helpful
Photoshop Elements 4 "Classroom In A Book" by Adobe is an excellent overview of many of the capabilities of their amazing product and is the logical choice for "newbies" to Photoshop that require knowledge beyond the Users Guide and System Help included with the software. The training includes a CD of photographs and hands-on lessons where you complete editing projects that are both enjoyable and informative. You can even make a photo slide show of the "before and after" effects of the enhancements you make from the lessons to show off your work. Especially important is the fact that the instruction is presented on a step-by-step, "fool-proof" level, making it beneficial to all that invest in this book. Take note that it is limited to providing "a flavor" of Elements 4 capabilities, which definitely starts the wheels tuning in your head. However it lacks many higher level practical applications and tricks of the trade that advanced photographers and digital image editors would benefit from. It also lacks an objective perspective regarding the effectiveness of the various PE4 tools due to the fact that the book is produced by the software manufacturer. After completing and fully absorbing this Adobe training, for those wanting to excel to the next level, I highly recommend Scott Kelby's book "Photoshop Elements 4 for Digital Photographers" and Deke McClelland's book "Photoshop Elements 4 One-on-One".
