5 out of 5 stars Eloquent   July 24, 2008

I have to say when I got this book I was hesitant. I have been disappointed more then not with books that come with a high recommendation from readers but end up dragging on and on. I started reading it and hated to put it down (if I didnt have a two year old I wouldnt have) I ended up reading it in one long night. The next morning I got up with my daughter and got the next two books that I read and enjoyed just as much(again in consequtive all night sessions). This has to be the most eloquently written series that I have ever read. I caught myself holding my breath, sitting up and gasping along with the story line. I cant wait for the next book to arrive (along with the sleep deprivation)

When my friends told me I should read this book at first I was skeptical, but after reading it I have fallen in love. This series is amazing and I cannot wait until August 2nd so I can read "Breaking Dawn".

I was a little skeptical getting a "young adult" book - but I went for it anyways and I am so very glad I did. It was one of the best books I have read in a very long time. I fell in love with both Bella and Edward. I could not put it down. I can not wait to read the next one.

5 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT BOOK   July 23, 2008

This book was brilliant. It made me want to be a writer. It is of the Harry Potter persuasion (written for young adults/adults will enjoy), but of vampires and better. I devoured this book and the following 2 in the series in days. I can't wait for the fourth to come out August 2, 2008 and the movie made from this first book in December 2008.

One issue: It is not very clear the order of the books, so be sure to read Twilight first, New Moon second, Eclipse third and Breaking Dawn fourth.

Again in order:
1. Twilight- has the hands and apple on cover
2. New Moon- has the white and red flower on cover
3. Eclipse- has the red ribbon on cover
4. Breaking Dawn- has the white chess piece on cover

RECOMMENDED FOR ALL AGES!

4 out of 5 stars I Love The Characters   July 23, 2008
If I hadn't gotten so tired of reading about how beautiful Edward was, I would have given this book 5 stars. Ms. Meyer certainly pushed the limit with the question "How many times can you say someone is perfect and beautiful?" I enjoyed Ms. Meyer's writing style: very easy and conversational. Usually I don't enjoy reading 1st person books, but this certainly was an exception. The story actually started to be repetitive and drag around the middle, but with the introduction of James, things really picked up, and I couldn't put the book down. I was hooked, and didn't stop until I had read all of the three books in the series that are currently available. As a matter of fact, I didn't do much else but read those books until I finished them. It hasn't been since the last Harry Potter book that I was so caught up in a book and in the characters. Don't get me wrong; this book doesn't even compare to the Harry Potter series (which is much richer and has so much more depth, color, and substance). However, for summer reading, I couldn't be more pleased that I discovered this series. I am eagerly awaiting the 4th in the series.
