Amazing Book! August 24, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book will blow you away! I was shocked at what I thought was healthy to eat but isn't. Very eye opening. The person who wrote the negative review and directed you to this website http://www.westonaprice.org/bookreviews/chinastudy.html. Does not have a brain. The credentials of the person who wrote this Anti-China Study article has a BS degree in History. I Don't think I am going to listen to him over a doctor who has spent most of his life researching this data. Be careful which reviews you read and who is writing them. The China Study is very scientific and trustworthy.
Great Book August 24, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
The China Study is a wonderful book. It is all about nutrition and now we should eat and not eat. I haven't finished it yet, but it is fascinating. A friend recommended it and I highly recommend it to anyone that is wanting to better their health through natural processes and natural foods. It is a real eye opener!!!
Extremely biased half truths with an agenda August 18, 2008 4 out of 14 found this review helpful
I am a big proponent of consuming a phytonutrient dense diet and organic, unprocessed foods whenever possible but it is important to realize that the author is an ardent activist with PETA and is more concerned about promoting his vegan political cause than the actual facts. If you want to see the "rest of the story" that was conveniently left out of this book I strongly suggest loking at the information here, http://www.westonaprice.org/bookreviews/chinastudy.html.
Excellent August 17, 2008 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I purchased this and Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn - two books closely related / companions in my opinion. They even talk about each other. Some of this book is a little in-depth for the person who is not interested in scientific studies, but the authors do a pretty good job of putting it all in plain english. This is a great book for anyone wanting to learn about how nutrition relates to food and disease. It is also a great book for learning about the shortfalls of the medical system in America and the politics behind medicine and the food industries. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED reading for anyone who wishes to be in-the-know.
I also appreciate the viewpoint of food and thousands of chemicals in food interacting together to produce good or bad health, as opposed to many other books and studies which take a more isolated approach, such as studying vitamin C and only vitamin C, for example, This book takes a more wholistic approach - meaning that the entire food must be considered in how all things interact, and not just one single element of nutrition alone.
