I LOVE THIS SHOW! October 4, 2008 Excellent show. As you get to know the characters in this series you can't pull yourself away. Lots of suspense, humor and great stories in every episode. Im not very good at writing reviews, all I can say is I love the show and only hope it stays on a very long time.
In plain sight September 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Half an hour into the series I was bored out of my mind. The premise of the show revolves around 2 U.S. Marshalls that work for the Witness Protection Program. The dialogue is forced, the voiceover is annoying, the domestic squabbles are comedic at best. Marshall Mann has zero personality. Bobby D (Todd Williams) is probably the best and only good thing in this show.
Great actor chemistry & location, nice mix of drama & comedy July 12, 2008 In Plain Sight is about witnesses in the federal witness protection program and two US marshals who protect them (focusing more on the female marshal). That makes it more of a character-based series than an action series (since WITSEC has an incredible record of protecting its witnesses).
The show is filmed in and around Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the show appears to use a lot of local actors.
Its leads are not from the current crop of pretty, young, look-alike celebs - instead they're around the 40s mark, are seasoned actors, have distinctive appearances . . . and are incredibly sexy.
The editing is often awkward and the gunplay hokey (which keeps the body count way low). But the verbal and facial interactions between the characters more than make up for that. The actor chemistry is great. The dry humor is intelligent and often wonderfully subtle.
These characters have a tremendous amount of potential. As they've been sketched in during the first 6 episodes, they have multiple layers. Whether they continue to fill in those layers will make or break this show for me.
Amazon Unboxed Season Pass works nicely over my highspeed connection and is a convenient way to get a clean copy of each episode within a few days of its original airing.
