Product Description
Throw out everything you think you know about history. Close the approved textbooks, turn off the corporate mass media, and whatever you do, don't believe anything you hear from the government—The Rise of the Fourth Reich reveals the truth about American power. In this explosive new book, the legendary Jim Marrs, author of the underground bestseller Rule by Secrecy, reveals the frighteningly real possibility that today the United States is becoming the Fourth Reich, the continuation of an ideology thought to have been vanquished more than a half century ago. This concept may seem absurd to those who cannot see past the rose-colored spin, hype, and disinformation poured out daily by the media conglomerates—most of which are owned by the very same families and corporations who supported the Nazis before World War II. But as Marrs precisely explains, National Socialism never died, but rather its hideous philosophy is alive and active in modern America. Unfortunately, most people cannot understand the shadowy links between fascism and corporate power, the military, and our elected leaders. While the United States helped defeat the Germans in World War II, we failed to defeat the Nazis. At the end of the war, ranking Nazis, along with their young and fanatical protégés, used the loot of Europe to create corporate front companies in many countries, including the United States of America. Utilizing their stolen wealth, men with Nazi backgrounds and mentalities wormed their way into corporate America, slowly buying up and consolidating companies into giant multinational conglomerates. Many thousands of other Nazis came to the United States under classified programs such as Project Paperclip. They brought with them miraculous weapon technology that helped win the space race but they also brought their insidious Nazi philosophy within our borders. This ideology based on the authoritarian premise that the end justifies the means—including unprovoked wars of aggression and curtailment of individual liberties—has gained an iron hold in the "land of the free and the home of the brave." For the first time Jim Marrs has gathered compelling evidence that an effort has been underway for the past sixty years to bring a form of National Socialism to modern America, creating in essence a modern empire—or "Fourth Reich"!

Entertaining and Regrettably NOT Unbelievable October 3, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I read this book in a weekend and couldn't bring myself to put it down. The case made by the author at first seems like fantastic fiction, but alarmingly, as the chapters begin to relate to events closer to current history you begin to feel the rug being pulled out from underneath you.
If I had a criticism it would be that, although the author convincingly shows how elements of Nazism splintered, survived, flourished, made inroads as well as became absorbed by various American institutions; he conflicts with his own argument stating that National Socialism is the danger, while simultaneously, Plutocratic Interests also are the danger. It can be followed that one begat the other, they developed along separate paths and intertwined at some later point. Marrs keeps citing that one is the issue, yet both are competing conspiracies or more likely one dominant and one subordinate.
I enjoyed this book immensely for it's odyssey on "what is wrong with America and how we got here", particularly for all the ground he covers. I think everyone should read this (at a minimum) just for the challenging ideas it presents. I felt it plugged up a lot of holes in my historical vocabulary.
Rise of The Fourth Reich September 28, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have read most of Mr. Marrs' books and have found them all to be well thought out, somewhat unbiased and well written. There is an obvious large amount of research and detail that has gone into the writing of all his works. The Rise of The Fourth Reich gives great background accounts leading up to present day America starting from pre-WW II and the rise of the original Third Reich. Mr Marrs has given, what seems accurate detail and substantiated accounts, that many Nazi's, including Hitler, escaped death and thrived all over the world post WW II. Much of our country's policies and motives could very well be linked to this subtle, shadow Nazi influence. You decide for yourself.
The Nazi influence can be traced back to rise of the party in Germany with the help of prominent American elite families. Their motives appear to have been the root of all "evile" as with most things:monetary. Whether you are an avid conspiracy buff or just want to see a different side to the story, you must admit that Mr Marrs presents a a well thought out, rational case explaining the methods and reasons why world events happening right now seem to be unfolding at a rapid pace.
National Socialism may indeed be happening in the US right now. Our individual freedoms seem to be taken away day-by-day in small unoticeable amounts until one day we wake up and find out that George Orwell was right on the money and 1984 is here (again).
I encourage people to read this book and also "Rule By Secrecy" and form their own opinions. At the very least these books may make you stop and think that there may be another reason why world events are happening other than the information told to us by mainstream media outlets.
Well Documented and Difficult to Refute September 28, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book is extensively sourced and footnoted, making it easy enough to verify the allegations for yourself if you are so inclined. I took a few weeks to go through this book and was able to trace many of the key assertions. Sadly, the Bush Administration has moved us closer to National Socialism than I would have thought possible and the current Wall Street bailout stands as stark evidence to this fact. From the structure or our educational system to the use of propaganda, our country is moving in a direction that our Founding Fathers would not have expected or supported. If you approach this book with an open mind, you will learn a great deal. The author's writing style is clear, lucid and entertaining. Prepare to be shocked and appalled.
Great Food For Thought September 24, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Jim Marrs writes a completely fascinating look at how the infamous Third Reich survived and transformed into a mutated variation that survives today in modern America. The reader will be amazed as he pulls the curtain back to expose what the real reason might have been behind Ruldoph Hess's mystery flight to England in May 1941, as well as exposing just how far the Nazi's were in their "wonder weapons" research and development - a lot farther along than the Western Allies tend to give credit. Without spoiling the suspense, find out whose uranium was actually used in the developement and dropping of the 1st atomic bomb on Hiroshima. As a PhD in History, I highly recommend reading especially for those interested in revisionist World War II history!
great book! September 23, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
