Product Description
Gigantic dinosaurs, tiny dinos, dinosaurs of every size: they’re gathered here for a big parade and kids are invited to join in the fun! These endlessly fascinating prehistoric creatures may have vanished from the Earth more than 60 million years ago, but this large-format picture book shows what it might be like to stand next to a real, live dinosaur. Colorful illustrations capture a happy procession of children marching alongside an array of dinosaurs; with just one look, young readers can put the relative sizes of human and beast in perspective—instantly making dinosaurs accessible. Dinosaur Parade answers all those endless questions, too: a simple rhyming text introduces nine well-known dinosaur groups, from Sauropods to Therizinosaurs. Children eager to learn more can delve into fascinating facts about over 60 dinosaurs at the bottom of the each page including their names, when they lived, and where they were found. The information is fabulous—but the contagiously joyful, festive feeling every picture conveys is even better!

Five stars, but I'm biased... August 22, 2008 We created DINOSAUR PARADE, Rick and I, because librarians kept asking me (during school presentation days) when I was going to write a dinosaur book for LITTLE dino fans -- and could I emphasize SCALE when I did. What better way to help a hungry little mind understand how big BIG is than putting them in the picture? Thanks to Rick's expertise as a natural history exhibit designer, we were able to accurately depict a 3'5" group of little people on parade with their dinosaur favorites. And the rhyming text explains the difference between science and make believe just to keep things straight (because people did NOT live with dinosaurs -- not ever). We hope you really enjoy the book as kids, parents, teachers and librarians. We sure loved bringing it to life. Thanks. Kelly Milner Halls
