Product Description
Most everyone is familiar with the sensation of excitement and awe watching the steep curves and daring constructions of big roller coasters. This informative and entertaining compilation presents the numerous innovations by civil engineer Werner Stengel in color diagrams and numerous photographs. The first German steel roller coaster was built in the 1960s and reformed the construction of roller coasters all over the world. According to Stengel's calculations, and thanks to his unbroken creativity, technical specialties like the famous loopings came into -realization during the following years. This history of new developments and changing forms is enlivened by Stengel's personal life story.

Not Released Yet... October 26, 2004 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Looks like the publication date has changed to December 30. I've waited since March...I can wait a bit longer, I guess.
it's awesome!! September 8, 2004 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
This book was not actually released until August 30th. I have not recieved my copy yet, either, but I do have the original German version of this same book, and I love it. The pictures are really nice, and the words, what of them I can read, are very informative, as well. There are many nice pictures and blueprints of rides I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who is seriously interested in roller coasters.
DOES THIS BOOK REALLY EXIST??? August 27, 2004 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I've tried to order this book from Amazon.com and still have not received it. I ordered it back in December 2003. It either says 10-12 days ship or not yet published. Please Amazon.com, clean up your inventory listings. Is this book available or not?
