Description Discover the world's most luxurious trains and relive a bygone era, when the journey itself was the most significant part of the experience; rather than simply getting there. A journey where the passenger becomes a real traveler and is able to experience the much more gracious way of travel - in a living recreation of the golden age of rail. The Northern Belle, also known as the British Orient Express because it offers the very same highest standards of excellence as its illustrious counterpart, follows a route through the beautiful countryside of mainland Britain. Travelers enjoy seven days of stylish and elegant living while experiencing a truly `First Class' journey.

Commercial January 8, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This DVD is a very long commercial for the train service. It has very little scenery. It has very long discussions about how great the Orient Express train company is. Some detail about how they went about purchasing old cars and refurbishing them.
Not a very enjoyable trip! November 3, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really wanted to enjoy this DVD, but the narration and the pace of this particular train journey is slightly dry and boring. There is more of documentary and talk, than actual shooting of the train trip. In the narration, there is reference to stunning surroundings, beautiful scenes and all that, but there really is nothing that's actually been shot as part of this journey except for the interiors! This always made me feel that something good is coming up on the way, but it never does!
Wonderful Day Trip January 30, 2006 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
Fantastic camera shots and narration; it certainly makes you want to take this trip! I certainly wish we had more short trips like this in the US.
