Product Description
Antoinette Portis again captures the thrill of when pretend feels so real that it becomes real. With a stick in hand, the options are endless—whether it's conducting an orchestra, painting a masterpiece, or slaying a dragon—give a child a stick and let imagination take over and the magic begin.

Not a Stick is a fresh delight May 8, 2008 Not a Stick reaches out to the child's imagination in a delightful way and encourages children to keep on imagining.
Great book March 25, 2008 This is a must have to go along with Not a Box. Great stories and illustrations. My son loves it!
cute March 5, 2008 Little Pig loves his stick! He makes the stick into all sorts of things! Some of those things are a sword, horse and a paintbrush! Now if he can just get the adults to see that it's NOT A STICK things will be ok!
Its Not a Book (Its real) February 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My eight year old grandson has always preferred sticks over any other toy. I thought he was a little old for this book but he has thoroughly enjoyed it. When I gave him the book, I told him that the book reminded me of him. He reads it to everyone. I also gave him "Its Not a Box" too. Recently we went up to the mountain forest...my grandson was probing the depth of the snow with a stick...when I asked him "What are you doing with that stick?", his answer was of course, "Its not a stick."
When Is A Stick Not A Stick? January 20, 2008 When it's been illustrated by Antoinette Portis.
This charming sequel to Not a Box is a treasure in it's own right. An ode to those who find the world more interesting than the plastic schlock that's mass-produced for them to play with, Not A Stick is perfect for the imaginative child in your life, or the college kid who thinks outside the stick. Move over Wilber, Portis' piggy is an adorable addition to the pantheon of ovine literary heroes.
