Easy and indispensable guide November 26, 1999 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
We planned our days in Paris with this guide and it worked out beautifully! We saw everything we wanted to see. If we got off-course, a quick look at Michael Brein's map got us where we wanted to go. Our Paris map is now well dog-eared with use. Thanks, Michael!
This guide is a must for anyone traveling in Paris. March 31, 1999 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
Paris By the Metro is a fantastic resource for anyone who is exploring this great city for the first time or the 20th time. I and my husband don't think we could've toured the city like we did if not for Paris By the Metro. With it we found all of the monuments and museums that we had come to Paris to see without having to spend an arm and a leg on maps sold in the city or on private transportation. With easy-to-understand maps of the underground Metro system and instructions on how to walk or ride to many points of interest, Paris By the Metro is the best (and most economical) way to tour the greatest city in the world.
Very Helpful! March 22, 1999 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
While we were in Paris with an organized antique tour group, this map proved invaluable, both to ourselves and even the tour director. Very concise directions from the metro stops made finding attractions a snap. I'd definately use these guides for other cities.
I'll leave my copy at home- March 18, 1999 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
"Paris by the Metro" is a profound yet inexpensive disappointment. After navigating Paris' metro and streets with "Let's Go Map Guide:Paris" last spring, I bought PBM to take with me to Paris this spring. This ridiculously large map of the Metro would be awkward to manipulate on a train, along a narrow side walk, or in any inclement type of weather. It can easily be substituted by the superior wallet sized Metro map available for free at most Metro stops. Also, almost any France or Paris guidebook includes a more manageable Metro map.PBM's maps to the 50 points of interest are pretty much limited to the single path from the metro stop to the sight and not much more. Want to wander? Looking for places nearby or in between? Forget it. I'll certainly take "Let's Go" again, but "Paris by the Metro" will definitely be left at home.
Don't leave home without it! September 8, 1997 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I want to compliment you for the excellent "Paris by Metro" map. My wife and I just returned from our first trip to Paris. We found your map to be an excellent resource and indispensable in making our way around the Metro system. We used the map far and away more than any other, to the point we would not think of leaving our hotel without it. Great job
