Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
1922 Locomotive Cyclopedia of American Practice, Sixth Edition This disk contains an unabridged digital reproduction of the 1922 Locomotive Cyclopedia (1,155 pages) originally published by Simmons-Boardman. The information in the text and thousands of high-resolution photographs and dimensioned drawings is ideal for digital and scale model builders, railroad historians, rail fans, and locomotive shops preserving historic steam engines.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Excellent collection of original source information.   February 19, 2006

The book this CD is based on was effectively a joint catalog of the locomotive equipment available from manufacturers in the United States in 1922, from whole locomotives to every detail part, even the nuts and bolts. It contains a huge amount of stuff, and if you're interested in locomotives in this kind of in-depth way, it's marvellous. The physical book sells for hundreds of dollars, if you can find it at all, making this a bargain indeed - let alone the fact that they've scanned it all for you and even provide a utility to print out images at various scales.
