Synopsis
Crimson. The dark trail of a bloody stain slowly dripped from her wrist to her palm, and then down to color the crumpled mound of toilet paper set between her feet. A sharp smell of burning wax reached her nostrils, carried on the frigid winter air coming from the open window to her left. A single candle burned in this breeze. It sat in the corner of the desk, producing ominous, ever-changing umbrae in the room. Black, dark foreboding. A place just outside the grip of death, but touched by it. Cold and faceless Hades stood waiting, smiling, and knowing that he controlled the fate of his victim in this room. Amber knew the eyes of death watched her. She lifted the razor in her right hand and slowly, deliberately drew it across her left wrist to carve a new line next to the first. For a brief moment, pain replaced the empty dark hole that defined her soul. She knew that there was, in a distant bleak corner, a sinister smirking face watching her carve into her own flesh. She knew, but she did not care.
