Amazon.com Collaboration and compromise prove key to imaginative backyard adventures in this quartet of Backyardigans episodes. In "Polka Palace Party," Cowboy Tyrone's love of the tuba and polka music takes him on a journey way out west to the Cheyenne Polka Palace. Along the way, he rescues clarinet playing Uniqua, accordion playing Pablo, and drum playing Austin from their separate perils. The group eventually joins forces to form a successful four-piece polka band. When Tasha convinces Pablo, Tyrone and Uniqua to have high tea with her, the gang resigns itself to a pretty boring afternoon. Little do they know that preparing for high tea will take them into the deep jungle, to meet the Emperor of the Ming Empire, and into the vicinity of the gushing geyser in the Gobe Desert. Three Tarzans and a scientist journey through the jungle in search of the Wormy family in "The Heart of the Jungle" and it's a rough adventure on the stormy seas for Viking sailors intent on discovering a new land in "Viking Voyages." As always, The Backyardigans features lots of kid-sung music--this time in the polka, Irish, Broadway and jazz styles. Also included is the music video "Hold Tight" from the "Viking Voyages" episode. (Ages 18 months to 6 years) --Tami Horiuchi

Fun and cute, and educational!! July 2, 2008 I bought this dvd for my granddaughter. I've seen it and was enchanted with the little characters. They sing catchy tunes and dance in such a cute way. This is the kind of fun educational thing that a parent can watch with their kid. Both will enjoy it, as I did.
Love it May 27, 2008 My twins love all the backyardigan videos. Love them. They watch them over and over. I have to admit, I get hooked on the songs and watch them right along with them.
Loved It March 24, 2008 The kids love this video. It has several episodes on the disc. When it's finished, the kids want it played again.
adventures March 19, 2008 this a great dvd...i even watch it!!! my son especially loves the instruments featured, learning what a tuba is and what it sounds like, learning about teamwork and friendship. also, the music is wonderful.
I own all of them December 18, 2007 My son loves the Backyardigan's. I was DVRing them, but he wanted to watch them on trips and in his bedroom. So I bought the whole set (10 DVDs). The characters speak clearly, using proper english. I think that sets a good example. The singing and dancing are high quality. The songs themselves can be a little inane, but it is a childrens show after all.
