Horsing Around: one of the best March 12, 2008 In my opinion, Horsing Around is one of the best Backyardigans episodes ever, and not just because I continually whistle the catchy klezmer tunes. The episode is a reprise of the tortoise and the hare, and features continuous bragging and boasting between Uniqua and Pablo who share the role of the hare. The concept of bragging can be a tricky one for a 3 year old but this show illustrates it well.
And the music is great. I put this episode in a three way tie for best tunes with the Yeti and Super Secret Super Spy.
great dvd March 8, 2008 This is a wonderful DVD and my grand daugher loves all four of the series on this dvd. She watches it over and over as well as the other backyardigans dvd series. I wish that Nickalodeon would play more of the backyardigans and create more each year.
Totally awesome! March 2, 2008 All 4 episodes on this DVD are great. A must have for your Backyardigans fan.
My first exposure to the Backyardigans February 24, 2008 My 3-year old likes a few of the songs from the Backyardigans so we bought a DVD to introduce him to the show. This is the first time I have seen a Backyardigans episode from start to finish.
The songs are catchy, the animation is great and I love that the overarching theme of the whole series is that these 5 friends have such vivid imaginations that they create anything they want in their backyard.
My son instantly loved the show and this video keeps his attention. This has quickly become his most requested video in our collection.
From an adult's perspective, the characters are not annoying, the story lines are cute and the songs are at worst, easy to listen to and at best, very catchy. Actually, that might be the worst part because I find myself singing these songs to myself during the day.
Very enjoyable and I think we'll definitely be adding more Backyardigans DVDs to our collection.
As for the DVD itself, I love that, although there are a few, this is not overloaded with previews in the beginning. It is quick and easy to get to the menu and to "play all" episodes.
I own all of them December 18, 2007 My son loves the Backyardigan's. I was DVRing them, but he wanted to watch them on trips and in his bedroom. So I bought the whole set (10 DVDs). The characters speak clearly, using proper english. I think that sets a good example. The singing and dancing are high quality. The songs themselves can be a little inane, but it is a childrens show after all.
