Fun but big and bulky September 29, 2008 My boys love it. But I have to always take up and down which is no problem it removing it but really bulky. The kids love it though.
Less expensive than a full Thomas bed... July 10, 2008 My little boy really likes it, and it took the sting out of the fact that big sister got a whole new bed.
There are two downsides, however: 1) Seams are not very strong. 2) The width and length are enough to fit around a mattress only, which means that if you have an external headboard or footboard the train will not fit over it and sit on the floor. You will slip the train over the mattress and it will rest on the frame at the level of the mattress. It is not designed for this, and if it does not sit on the floor the panel with the "wheels" toward the front is higher than the mattress and blocks entry to the bed. My son throws himself across that panel, and I doubt the seams are going to hold up very long.
All that said, it is a (relatively) inexpensive way to have a Thomas bed!
Crazy about Thomas June 22, 2008 I got this for my grandson's bedroom at my house. It is soooo cute. I did buy some pvc pipe to make an additional frame for the top and the front. It assembled in 2 seconds, just open the box and take it out. I cannot imagine any little boy who would not want to sleep in a locomotive...espeically Thomas. My guest bedroom is very small and a big plastic Thomas bed would not fit, but I can replace this topper 6 times for the cost of the bed and he will probably outgrow Thomas before that happens.
Pretty fun for a toddler April 28, 2008 Bought this for my two-year old and he loved it. It was a helpful transition from the crib. Built OK, some loose stitching but durable enough. Easy for me to climb in with him and read books.
Thomas the affordable bed April 7, 2008 The Thomas the train bed topper was a much needed accessory for my son's bedroom. However because it is structurally a play tent it has already become loose at the seams. I am going to add velcro to the part that is coming apart so I can just keep putting it back together. My son loves it and that is what was the most important.
