Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
This 1,235-watt countertop oven makes pizza in about half the time required by a conventional oven. You don't need to preheat it--it begins rotating and baking the moment you plug it in. There are independently controlled top and bottom heating elements, so all types (frozen or fresh) and sizes (7 to 12 inches) of pizza can be custom baked. With a rising-crust pizza, for example, you should run the lower heating element for 10-12 minutes before turning on the top element. For a crisper crust, bake the pizza with both heating elements, then finish it off with a few minutes of bottom-only heating. For extra cooking time on your toppings, leave the top element on a little longer. A timer with automatic shutoff lets you set cooking times precisely, and a cooking-time guide for various pizza types is printed on the pizza maker. For safety, the appliance shuts off automatically if it overheats. With the 13-1/4-inch-diameter baking pan in place, the pizza maker is 13-1/4 inches wide, 9-1/2 inches high, and 17-1/2 inches deep. (The baking pan can be removed for more compact storage.) It carries a two-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

5 out of 5 stars Yea, cooks great pizza! Anytime of year!   October 10, 2008
I thought about getting this for a while, probably a couple years. I hesitated because while it received excellent reviews and I liked the concept, did I really need it?

I finally purchased it and I am so happy I did! I do need it, I do need it!

I've used it several times over the past few months and it works great. I wont turn the oven on when it's even slightly warm out, so this allows me to serve yummy pizza (hey, is pizza ever NOT yummy?) whenever I want. And it allows me to control how I want the pizza cooked. I love being able to cook the crust to the desired crispness while not over cooking the toppings. The controls really work well.

I was a little concerned about the pizza pan becoming scratched or scorched. What I decided to do is to use a similar size second pizza pan and cook my pizza on it. I just use the pizza pan that came with the unit more as a base for turning the pizza around. This way the pizza pan that came with the unit never gets dirty, doesn't get cheese melted on it or sauce cooked on it, and if any crumbs get on it, I can just wipe them away. I already had this extra pizza pan, so it didn't cost me anything to add this.

Once the first pizza is ready, I turn off the Pizza Oven, take that second pizza pan off the unit and slide my pizza on a cutting board. Then I'm ready to put together and start cooking the next pizza right away! And it's easier for me to slide my own pizza pan full with a pizza onto the pan that comes with the unit rather than try to fit the pan that came with the Pizza Oven back on the turn table, especially when it's hot.

Wow, that last paragraph sounds like it could be very confusing. If it is, I'm sorry! I'm trying to make it clear, but may not be doing a good job. :-)

Maybe I should just end my review by saying I really love the Pizzazz Pizza Oven!

5 out of 5 stars Works!   October 9, 2008
Takes a lot of room, but for pizza from freezer or re-heats, this is the bomb!

1 out of 5 stars I really wanted to like this product!   October 3, 2008
Unfortunately, this really is not better or faster than using the oven.

I tried three different pizzas and followed the directions exactly. It's just not better or faster than using the oven so I don't want to waste my money or counter space on it. It's going back to the store tomorrow.

5 out of 5 stars Great buy that makes great food!   October 3, 2008
The Pizzazz Pizza Oven is a great product that makes wonderful pizzas....cooked to perfection. I have also cooked other items with it including chicken fingers, french fries, egg rolls, tater tots....everything has turned out wonderfully. I love the option of heating from both the top and bottom or just the top. I highly recommend this to interested buyers.

5 out of 5 stars Disconnect your Oven   October 2, 2008
We haven't used our oven for years to cook anything resembling a pizza. Although it is designed for pizza, we cook everything on it. Fish stick, chicken nuggets, french fries, pizza, etc. They come out crisp and you don't have to open the oven every 10 minutes to check on your food. It has a timer on it and shuts off the burner elements but the machine still spins. This will allow time for your pizza to cool so you don't get hot molten cheese burn when you eat it. This is fantastic for college bound kids. We put the cook surface in the dishwasher and it comes clean. I highly recommend it! Also it cooks on BOTH sides. This is the best feature. You can also choose to cook only on the top or bottom.
