perfect September 4, 2008 Dozens and dozens of reviews from some of the most discriminate people out there -- techno-gamers, and with such high scores I went ahead and abandoned my dead wingman 2 (which looks a hell of a lot cooler, but didn't even make a good paperweight much less controller (used it succefully 1-2 times in 4 years with hassle, before it pooped itself and went in the garbage). The only people who have issues with this are Mac users, what more could we ask for?
It's not logitech's fault some people are so controlled by fear mongering that they think they are only safe if they hide behind a 3000 dollar iPod. :)
Solid Product - only one minor issue September 1, 2008 I've had this controller for nearly a year now. It has worked very well with both racing and flight sim games. It is well built and actually feels more solid in my hands than do most game console controllers. Batteries last months, even with heavy use. The only reason not to have all five stars is because I had a small but easily overcome problem with it yesterday. I went to use my controller after a few weeks sitting idol and it would not connect to the computer. Restarts, calibration, etc. all failed. After a little internet research I found the answer. The key is to remove one battery, press the button on the front of the receiver then press buttons 5 & 7 while reinserting the battery. Apparently this resets all the communications and after doing so I'm back in business. I like this controller a lot and enjoy the freedom the wireless allows. If you want to connect more than one - read up on it to save some frustration. I can be done but requires two receivers.
Fantastic contoller August 27, 2008 The short and sweet of it is this is the best controller (wired or otherwise) I've ever used, hands down. I used it for Bionic Commando: Rearmed and it makes the game much more responsive compared to the other controller I was using. According to another reviewer this also works with the PS3 and since I just bought one I am psyched that I now will have two controllers for that system without any further purchases. Sweet!
Anyway, if you are looking for a great wireless gamepad, this is it.
Worried about compatibility, but.... August 18, 2008 it connected quickly and with no errors on my new HP laptop running 64-bit VISTA; worked great on Eragon and Mass Effect.
Great controller! August 14, 2008 Pros: This a great controller its made from tough quality plastic, not cheap stuff that I've seen other controllers made from. It has good weight to it, its not to heavy but not to light. The battery life it great, I've had this for 10days now and I use it every day for about an hour at least and its still going strong with the battery's that came with it. Range wise its perfect I haven't experienced any type of lag or anything and I'm able to go to the other end of my apartment and it still works perfecty. It can be made to work with any game with the software that it uses.
Cons: Uses battery's. The vibration doesn't work on games that don't support controllers and even on some that do. The dpad seams cheaper than the rest of the controller. The software that is used to make the controller work with non-supporting games it a a big pain since you have to program every action in the game to one on the controller manually.
Other thoughts: I got this to use on racing games and any button mashing type games like devil may cry 4 and I'm very satisfied with it. You dont have to worry about computability with this controller, new games like assassins creed, dmc4, and flatout uc all work with this automatically and if a game doesn't support controllers you use the software that comes with it(get the latest drivers at the site though) The oldest game that I have that I tested was max Payne 2 and it worked perfectly. I highly recommended this product to everyone looking for a quality controller.
