Amazon.com Product Description Big, bold and masculine, the Invicta Quartz Pro Diver S2 is an affordable luxury watch with classically styled features. This precisely constructed timepiece for men features a solid stainless steel case that's 39.9mm wide (1.57 inches). It has a black face with Tritnite luminous hands and markers and a unidirectional black bezel with white numerals and markings. Other features include anti-reflective mineral crystal, date display at 3 o'clock, and water resistance to 200 meters. The highly polished stainless steel band has a fold over clasp with safety. An automatic watch is a mechanical watch that is self-winding. the movement of your wrist and body causes the rotor--a weight attached to an automatic winding mechanism--to wind up the watch. This automatic watch has 21 jewels, which are ruby stones that the gears turn on to protect the metal parts from grinding together. An automatic watch needs no battery, but it will stop if now worn for over a day or if you have been physically inactive for an extended period of time. If this happens, wind the crown ten times clockwise to start the watch and give it some reserve power.

Great workhorse of an automatic October 6, 2008 I can't say much here that hasn't already been said. This watch is a steal at $100 and can usually be found for a few bucks cheaper with a little patience and effort. The band is really well-made - much nicer and heftier than typical at this price point. The two most common complaints - the weakness of the glow-in-the-dark material and the paltry date magnifier - are really minor and don't affect my appreciation of the watch. If your vision is bad enough to not see the date unmagnified, any magnifier isn't going to make that much of a difference. And how often do you really look at your watch 8 hours after you've shut off the light? Mine definitely lasts for 5-6 hours, which is plenty impressive at this price range. The view of the concededly-undecorated movement is still fascinating and something you can't really get for this price with most watches. The screw-down crown is solid and easy to work with. The supposedly stiff bezel did loosen a bit with use and wasn't that tough to turn to begin with.
The only real caveat is that Invicta is notoriously bad at customer service and is only spotty with quality control. The risk is that you'll get a slightly defective unit - a slightly off bezel, a screwy crown (har-har, no pun intended), or some other minor problem - and end up having to live with it or risk further damage, poor communication, and a loss of $25 and shipping under their "warranty." I'm reviewing the watch I received, which was flawless and deserves 5 stars. I've now bought two other Invictas and both have arrived in perfect condition. I imagine if I had to go through the headaches some of these other reviewers have warned about, I wouldn't be so gung ho. But if you want a fantastic automatic diver watch at 1/10 the price of most other options, and you don't mind taking a bit of risk, I wouldn't hesitate at all to purchase it.
Crown fell out after 5 months October 3, 2008 I really liked this watch - until the crown simply fell out after 5 months. I had a hard time pulling it out to set the date and time - something seemed to be wrong with whatever was holding it in.
Anyway, one day I looked down and the crown was missing.
Now I've got to ship it back to Invicta along with 20 bucks for shipping and handling (don't most manufacturers cover this??)
Better than expected!! October 3, 2008 I had done a lot of research before settling on this watch. I read all the reviews and they do not do this watch justice. The look, quality, and weight of this watch completely exceeded my expectations. Whether your are buying this watch for a gift or personal use, you will not be disappointed. Several friends and family could not believe what I paid for it. In case you can't tell I am very satisfied.
Invicta Pro Diver Watch October 1, 2008 I purchased my Invicta Pro Diver about three years ago. I owned other watches at the time. My son came to me one day and told me he really needed a good watch. He couldn't afford one, so I (being a soft touch) gave him my Pro Diver. He is in the construction/remodeling business and is really tough on watches. He doesn't just wear a watch. He brutalizes it. The watch looks as if it had been put in a meat grinder, but it keeps perfect time and hasn't missed a lick. If a wrist watch will hold up under his use, it will last for a long time with normal wear and use. If you're looking for a really good watch for a good price, I strongly recommend this Invicta. I own two other automatic Invictas and couldn't be happier with them. Great products at a good price.
not for me September 30, 2008 The movement of this watch is great - nice smooth second hand sweep. However, the design is a little clunky for my tastes and it just didn't feel right. I returned it and will probably buy another Tag Heuer.
