Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars What a great set.   August 9, 2008
This review is on behalf of my 8 year old son:

The blades are so cool, because they rotate, when you push the cutter along. The hideout has really a really good trap. The button in the back of the jungle cutter, makes the top part of the vehicle explode.

The mini figures are cool. The hideout looks great.

Very nice product to add to your collection.

5 out of 5 stars Grandson loved it!   August 2, 2008
Gave this and another lego to our grandson for his 7th birthday. He called to tell us his friend said he was very lucky to have grandparents who sent Jungle Cutter.

5 out of 5 stars accessories   July 1, 2008

There are some great accessories in this set.(I think that the spiders are supposed to be the man-eating fire ants in the movie.) You build tow bazookas, but only one has the handle. The trees are able to fall down, but you have to hold them. To make the blades go 'round, you have to push(not too hard though)on the veachale. (If I spelled that wrong, I'm only nine.) The box holds jewels, tools, and the other bazooka. You can put the free-handed green suit guy in the chair in the back, but you have to lift off the top, then, once he is in there, you put it back on. Don't worry, he will fit. Make the best of it and have a good time!

2 out of 5 stars Indiana Jones goes to China   June 19, 2008

I am a die hard lover of Lego and their products. Lego is the standard in the industry for quality toys. We have purchased and built dozens of Lego kits over the years. I have tried several MegaBlok models and each time I shake my head and wonder why they can't make plastic blocks as well as Lego does? The disappointment in this newest Lego kit is why I am writing this review.

I can only guess that Lego has outsourced the production of this item to some low cost supplier. On all the pieces you can see dimples where the plastic was separated from the mold. On some of the special pieces (engine exhaust)large pieces of plastic are dangling where the mold had a leak. On several of the smaller pieces my kids could not get the pieces together without my help. (this is a problem I have found on MegaBlock models which do not hold tight tolerances on their molds).

If Lego continues to let their quality slip down to the MegaBlock level, I will start to buy MegaBlock models at half the price.

Oh, and if you are not a quality nut like me, this is a great toy.

4 out of 5 stars Looks good but why this complexity?   June 11, 2008

Lego's doing justice to the IJ franchise, and no mistake. However, they need to dial down the complexity of their bigger kits. This one could have had maybe 100 less pieces (most of which would be lost from inside the Cutter vehicle itself) and it would still look exactly the same, would still act exactly the same, and you'd save a good amount of time on putting it together.

Don't get me wrong, I like building Lego, and this is a great (looking) kit, just like the real stuff from the movie. I just think you'll look at it when you've finished, and you'll feel that most of your hard work is now hidden inside the Cutter, so why did you bother? Why not just have a few big bricks to fill up the engine space?
