Not that great for a nerf "sniper" October 8, 2008 This weekend, I got this nerf "sniper" for my birthday so I can participate in my dorm's game "RC Assassins." All in all, if you're considering buying this, I would reccomend the Nerf N-Strike Recon Cs-6 Dart Blaster, which is $10 less, or the Hasbro Nerf N-Strike Maverick, which is $10 total.
Pros: 2 six-dart magazines for slightly faster reloading Cons: The gun jams too much, which ruins the darts you're given. The detatchable pistol is terrible. You get one shot you have to load from the front when the darts are stored in the two magazines, one stored in the stock of the rifle and the other loaded in place. Pitiful range. Box claims to be "the longest nerf blaster"-- This seems to refer to the barrel of the rifle, not the range of the dart's fire (35 feet, according to the box, but I've fired that far with one of the older nerf guns I had when I was younger and with my friends' new Mavericks). I know there are warnings "Do not modify darts or dart blaster," but I'm an engineering student with the help of three other engineering students, so we gave it a try. With the current design, we couldn't remove the air suppressors, but we did stretch the spring out to 1 and 1/3 times the length. It works just the same after putting it all back together, except it fires a little farther (about a foot or two). Also, it was a pain to remove the screws. Using the right sized screwdriver, almost all of the screws were stripped (cheap quality).
Nerf Longshot September 18, 2008 Great toy. Bought this and the Recon, and I prefer this one for a mid-size rifle. Stock is two position, but can cramp larger hands in the collapsed position. I was surprised by the breach cover that opens when in "bolt" is in the rearward position. Really cool and necessary if you get a jam. Scope is useless as expected. Comes with two mags, which is nice. Haven't had trouble with it yet, and is a very nice looking toy. Shoots well stock, and is a little tricky to mod if you want a little more out of it. The front gun is unnecessary and slightly ridiculous when attached, but is a nice addition if you want a pistol to loan out to someone. A little more expensive than the Recon, but I recommend this one over it by far.
Hasbro Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6 August 31, 2008 Excellent toy, doesn't jam, perfect shots.
A little heavey for a 9 year old if fully assembled, but can be used as two weapons instead of one. Hasbro Nerf N-Strike Longshot CS-6
It all adds up August 22, 2008 I'm 10 and I am giving you some reasons why I rate this 5 stars. --------------------------------------------------------- 1. The adjustable stock: this is a great accessory for the Nerf LongShot but it needs a better lock. +3 stars 2. the scope STINKS, is just a hollow tube and is just dead weight. -1 star 3. Gets great range!!!! +3 stars 4. Cocking action ROCKS!!!! +3 stars 5. Jams occasionally but is easily fixed. -1 star 6. The pistol extension decreases range and fires poorly. -2 stars ---------------------------------------------------------- TOTAL: 5 STARS
Thanks for reading!

Longshot CS-6 August 12, 2008 This is a great gun overall, but the extension is very bad, and the scope doesn't work. Putting on the extension might make the accuracy better, but not the range. If you want more range, take it off. Also, people say this gun jams a lot, but if you load it all the way, and hear the click all the time, it won't jam as much.
